City Council passes scaled down Housing Action Plan
Citizens will still get their say through an advisory vote

A divided Mukilteo City Council passed a scaled down version of the controversial Housing Action Plan (HAP) Monday, June 7.
The initial HAP presented to the council included 12 strategies, ranging from improving permit processing, reviewing subdivision procedures, and adopting short-term rental regulations.
Councilmember Louis Harris made a motion to include only three of the 12 proposed strategies – to review comprehensive plan language, educate about programs to help residents stay in their homes, and expand senior housing options.
