Letter to the Editor: Waterfront pedestrian safety still a major problem

On Saturday, March 27, 2021, around 5:30 p.m., I was heading down to Ivar's Fish Bar to pick up dinner. At the Second Street crosswalk I pushed the button and the strobes started flashing.
The ferry was unloading so there was ferry traffic coming up the hill. As a result (there was no traffic control anywhere), waterfront destined traffic was backed up the hill and a car was blocking the crosswalk. I made eye contact with the car blocking the crosswalk (there was no backup in the ferry lane) and walked around the front of the car.
