I think the strangest thing was how cold the body was. Every morning when I walk into my bathroom and I touch the counter I expect it to be cold – to feel the heat leaving me and warming the surface of the vanity. It was such an odd sensation to be touching the body of what was once a vibrant, imperfect, wonderful man – and feeling the heat leave me to warm his frigid, stiff skin.
