Council to consider adopting parts of Climate Action Plan into comp plan

The City Council plans to take a look at its Climate Action Plan to see which elements could be incorporated into the comprehensive plan.

The city is required by the state Growth Management Act to have an annual docket process to consider amendments to the comprehensive plan and development regulations. These requests can originate from the public, city staff, or councilmembers.

During Monday's council meeting, Councilmember Richard Emery suggested that the Climate Action Plan that was completed by the Climate Action Committee in October 2020 be added to the preliminary docket.
