Manson Construction Company, on behalf of the Washington State Ferries, was approved for a noise variance to install and repair the vehicle transfer span and installation of overhead loading components for the new Mukilteo ferry terminal building.

This request for overnight work for 10 days between Feb. 22 and March 15, was made to minimize interruptions to scheduled ferry runs and to take advantage of low tide conditions for any in-water work. Currently the ferry boats do not operate during the hours of 12:15-4:40 a.m. The variance excludes Saturday and Sunday evenings.

The noise variance is only applicable for the installation and repair of structural, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and architectural components of the vehicle transfer span and installation of overhead loading components for the new Mukilteo ferry terminal building. No other construction activity is permitted.

Copies of the Notice of Approval are available from the city of Mukilteo, Community Development Department, by calling 425-263-8000 or requesting one via email: [email protected]

Any person aggrieved by the granting of this variance may appeal the decision to the Pollution Control Hearings Board, pursuant to Chapter 43.21B RCW under the procedures of Chapter 37108 WAC.
