Youth group hopes to boost seniors' spirits

Volunteers make fleece blankets for Harbour Pointe Senior Living residents

A youth group from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mukilteo is making sure that senior citizens aren't forgotten during the holidays.

Last week, 20 volunteers gathered together to knit fleece blankets as part of a holiday outreach program. The blankets will be presented to senior citizens at Harbour Pointe Senior Living in early December.

"We know that the holidays are a lonely time for many seniors, and we wanted to bring them a nice gift," said project coordinator Becky Bundy. "We wanted to bring them a little joy for the holidays. The blankets are very cozy and soft. T...
