Kamiak's Georgia McClaskey was named Washington State's Special Olympics Coach of the Year.

McClaskey received the honor when she attended the Special Olympics Washington State Coaches Virtual Conference last weekend. She was accompanied by Unified Pair student-athlete representatives Myron Swimmer and Chloe Nuttbrock.

"We are so proud of Georgia and our entire Kamiak school community," said Kamiak athletic director Sean Monica. "It is so wonderful to work with so many committed and talented educators and coaches that support all of our students and student-athletes with their care and expertise."

Kamiak was recognized as a National Banner School for Inclusive practices by Special Olympics North America last year.
