Vehicle prowls on the rise in Mukilteo
Many thefts are occurring on Thursdays

Police are advising residents to hide valuables, such as laptop computers and purses, so they are out of view from potential thieves.
The Mukilteo Police department is urging people to lock their car doors to help deter what it says has been an increase in vehicle prowls.
The department reported 16 incidents from July 28 through Aug. 28. Police responded to six different reported thefts on Aug. 27.
"It's primarily vehicle prowls," Mukilteo Police crime prevention officer Myron Travis said. "That's what is spiking the numbers."
While some of the incidents are from single-dwelling houses, the majority are taking place at apartments and other multihousing units.
