A marine crane helped to put the current ferry terminal's floating dolphin back into its original position.
If you were wondering what the large marine crane was doing on the waterfront Monday morning, we have the answer.
The floating dolphin, which is used to protect structures from possible impacts by vessels, for the existing ferry terminal had slipped out of position from its anchor mooring, according to Washington State Ferries (WSF). Manson, a marine contractor, was hired by WSF to reposition the anchors and chains and to secure them to the original location. The work was unrelated to the new ferry terminal.
