Incumbents dominated the results in the Aug. 4 primary.
In the 21st Legislative District, Position 2, incumbent Lillian Ortiz-Self (D-Mukilteo) received 64.7% (28,837) of the vote, ahead of Republican Amy Schaper, who had 32.7% (14,581). Willie Russell, who stated no party preference, received 0.1% (61), as of Monday, Aug. 10.
In the 21st Legislative District, Position 1, incumbent Strom Peterson (D-Edmonds) led with 55.7% (24,593), with Republican Brian Thompson of Mukilteo in second with 34.83% (15,351) and Democrat Grant Diede third with 9.4% (4,132).
