Community comes together to honor George Floyd during peaceful protest in Lynnwood

South Snohomish County residents showed up to protest the death of George Floyd Wednesday, June 3, on 52nd Avenue West, near Beverly Park Elementary School in Lynnwood.

Residents from across South Snohomish County lined 52nd Avenue West near Beverly Park Elementary School in Lynnwood for a peaceful candle light vigil to honor George Floyd on Wednesday, June 3.

Floyd, a black man, died after a white policeman in Minneapolis pinned him under his knee for nine minutes.

The event was hosted by the Beverly Elementary School PTA and included a moment of silence that lasted 15 minutes.
