Michelle Mortrud of Rite Aid drives down 53rd Avenue West during the neighborhood's "two minutes of gratitude" Friday, May 15.

Residents on 53rd Avenue West paid tribute to Rite Aid's Michelle Mortrud during their nightly "two minutes of gratitude" on Friday, May 15.

Mortrude has been working at Rite Aid for 27 years, starting there when she was a student at Kamiak. She has been a top regional fundraiser for the Miracle Children's Network. As a baby and teenager, Mortrud was treated at Children's Hospital.

"During these difficult times she continues to show up for work everyday under dangerous circumstances, serving all the customers of Rite Aid," resident Ronald Heiman said.
