Practices for spring sports in the Mukilteo School District are continuing and, as of Tuesday, March 10, the district is still reviewing athletic competitions involving Kamiak and Mariner high schools as the region deals with the coronavirus outbreak.

The district reports it will communicate any schedule changes later this week. Updates can be found on the district’s website at https://www.mukilteoschools.org

A number of baseball, boys soccer, softball and girls tennis competitions scheduled for later this month have already been canceled. Most Kamiak and Mariner teams are supposed to begin playing games this weekend and next week. Middle school wrestling practices will continue, but matches are postponed through March 20.

At the recommendation of the Snohomish Health District, the Mukilteo School District began limiting large group meetings and the number of visitors coming in and out of its schools. The district canceled all afterschool and evening events through March 22. The Kamiak-hosted dance competition scheduled for this weekend was canceled.

Before and afterschool child care will continue. Afterschool-sponsored homework and other clubs also will continue. The district canceled all indoor facility use by non-school district organizations through March 22. School day volunteers and visitors are asked to stay out of schools through March 20.

The Edmonds School District has decided that all community events, including athletic competitions, will be suspended through April 12. King’s Schools in Shoreline has decided to move to a remote learning platform for students through March 27, the final day of school preceding spring break.
