The cat jumped into my lap this morning, as he does most mornings. This is not a random cat, although I'm pretty sure he considers it a random lap.

And as he got up close and personal, rubbing his head against the stubble of my beard, I wondered about the last time he'd washed his hands. I can't help it. I don't trust anyone.

I don't trust people whose response to COVID-19 is to empty store shelves of toilet paper and bottled water, a bizarre response to infectious disease. It's like hearing that there's an impending heat wave and rushing out to put air in your tires.
