Marine construction crews began driving piles last week for a new fishing pier just east of the new Mukilteo terminal building. They’re replacing the old fishing pier near Ivar’s with one of roughly the same length. It’s scheduled to open in the fall with the new terminal.
The new fishing pier at the new Mukilteo ferry terminal site will provide space for between four and seven small boats to tie up.
Looking for a food vendor for new terminal
For ferry riders who might be struck by hunger while waiting in the holding lanes at the new Mukilteo ferry terminal, state officials have issued a request for proposals for vendors to provide food services inside the holding area at the new terminal when it opens this fall, said Amy Scarton, Assistant Secretary, WSDOT/Ferries Division.
They’ll announce their selected vendor this spring.
The selected food vendor will set up operations in front of the head of the holding lanes near the new maintenance building, which will have restrooms.
