Waves near Lighthouse Park were crashing at 2-4 feet on New Year's Eve. Water covered most of the rocks and logs on the beach.

Mother Nature has surely been putting on a show across Western Washington over the last few weeks. And the fun is only just beginning. First, heavy rain and flooding. Second, strong wind and power outages. Third, potential snow in coming days.

It was obvious things were getting serious when the Space Needle fireworks show was cancelled on New Years-a very 2019 way to end 2019.

The National Weather Service cancelled a wind advisory ahead of New Years at the Space Needle in Seattle Tuesday night. Winds were reaching 27-35 mph, with gusts hitting 45 mph.
