Night construction at new ferry terminal trips alarms

Last updated 12/18/2019 at 12:47pm

Night construction began at the ferry terminal Dec. 9 and plans to continue through Jan. 25. After weeks and weeks of forewarned messages about noise in the area, workers still managed to trip various alarms on the property.

Officers responded to a silent alarm at the ferry terminal construction site with video surveillance of a male and a white truck on the property. The subject was associated with several other construction workers who were still working at the location at about 8 p.m. A message was left for the alarm company and subscriber.

Officers responded to another alarm at the new ferry terminal construction site at 1:30 a.m. the same night. Contact was made with the construction crew who advised they would be working through the night all week. The foreman agreed to try to contact the alarm company to provide them with an updated schedule.

The construction will continue for 16 non-consecutive nights between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. How many more alarms will go off?
