Kamiak Messiah concert receives standing ovation

The choirs and orchestra combined at the end of the concert to perform sections from Handel's Messiah.

Kamaik's Holiday Classics Concert celebrated their 23rd year at the Everett Civic Auditorium Dec. 15. The students performed two shows back to back.

The event was sponsored by Kamiak Performing Arts Boosters. Nancy Duck-Jefferson and Brian Steves directed the orchestra and various choirs throughout the concert.

"It's a oratoria, which essentially means it's like an opera without costumes and sets. It tells the story of the birth of Christ through solos, spoken word, and choruses," Duck-Jefferson said.
