It is not enough to say “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
We need to know who the neighbor is, and to turn love into service, words into deeds.
There are two types of neighbors we don’t know very well. We don’t know the poor, at least the way they live, and we don’t know the enemy, the one in wartime we are called upon to kill.
Most often we know these people as pictures....
