Snohomish County rejects affirmative action

About 54.5% of Snohomish County voted to reject Referendum 88 in the General Election Nov. 5. Washington voters also elected to reject the measure, with a very tight margin of 50.36% to 49.64%.
Ref. 88 was designed to require a statewide vote on Initiative 100. State legislators originally approved the initiative at the end of the 2019 Legislative Session in April. I-1000 was passed along party lines in a vote of 56-42 in the House and 26-22 in the Senate, with all votes in favor coming from Democratic legislators.
The passage of this initiative meant it would not have to go on the ballot...
