Lynnwood fire on 196th claims lives of two Shoreline children

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner has identified 7-year-old Mardoqueo Jimenez Lopez and 15-year-old Victoria Jimenez Lopez, both of Shoreline, as the victims of a Lynnwood apartment fire Sunday, Nov. 2. Both died from smoke inhalation.
Fire investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
According to South County Fire spokeswoman Leslie Hynes, the siblings were visiting relatives at the apartment in the 6700 block of 196th Street SW, near Edmonds Community College, when fire broke out around 2:40 p.m.
