Mariner self-defense event builds women empowerment

When Rhonda Marquardt saw a need for women's self-defense lessons, she sprung to action.
The Mariner High School teacher has trained in mixed martial arts for years, and said she is regularly asked about her training.
"Women have continually asked me for places to learn self-defense," she said. "But the truth is there's just not much in the area, and it can be expensive, too."
