Chamber busy with three big events this month

The Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce will be very busy throughout October, with three large events coming in the coming weeks.

Chili Chowder Challenge

The first Chamber-hosted event is the first annual Chamber Chili Chowder Challenge. The chili cook-off will take place at Rosehill Community Center (304 Lincoln Ave.) Friday, Oct. 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be prizes for first, second, and third place winners. General admission tickets $15 if buying online early, $20 if purchasing a ticket at the door. For Chamber members, it is $10 if buying early and $15 at the door. There is a fee to enter the competition.

There are also raffle items from Party Solutions, Traxx Indoor Raceway, Historic Flight Foundation, Nature Together, Staybridge Suites-Mukilteo, Arnies Restaurant, Vibe Salon, Silver Cloud Inn, Ivars Mukilteo Landing, Mukilteo Chocolates.

Judges will be Mayor Jennifer Gregerson, J Donovan Smith from J Donovan Smith Creative, and others. This event is co-sponsored by a grant from the City of Mukilteo

The Amazing Race

Soon after, Mukilteo version of The Amazing Race returns Saturday, Oct. 19. Competitors will attempt to complete challenges, puzzles and trivia. There will be prizes for the first, second and third place teams, as well as raffle items. See the Chamber’s website for sign-up details.

Candidate forum

And the final event is a candidate forum at Rosehill Community Center Wednesday, Oct. 23. Candidates for Mukilteo City Council, Snohomish County Council Position 2, and Mukilteo School District Board of Directors have been invited to participate. Attendees will have the opportunity to write questions that may get asked by the moderator, 2019 Mukilteo Citizen of the Year Matt Martin. The event is sponsored by the Chamber, the Mukilteo Beacon, the Lynnwood Times, and Academic Link. The forum starts at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 8:30. It is free to attend.
