Mukilteo police ditch gold and silver for pink

Department aiming to raise breast cancer awareness

It's October, which means you can expect to see a lot of pink.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and to raise awareness, many businesses and agencies add pink to their uniforms or merchandise. If you're an NFL fan, you'll soon notice players with pink accessories in addition to their uniforms.

You'll also see more pink locally, as members of the Mukilteo Police Department are once again donning pink badges rather than the typical gold or silver ones. Additionally, officers may also be seen with pink breast cancer awareness ribbons.
