Paine Field third Salmon-Safe airport in North America

Paine Field Airport joined an exclusive list last week, as the airport is now one of just three airports in North America to be certified by environmental nonprofit Salmon-Safe.

The airport was awarded the certification last Thursday, Sept. 12, due to its "long-running efforts to maintain water quality and natural habitat that supports the biological needs of salmon," per a Snohomish County news release. Additionally, the County said, Paine Field's environmental programs "reflect decades of improvements and innovation."
