Kamiak graduate Hunter Beirne is headed to Seattle Pacific University to play basketball.
Seattle Pacific announced that Beirne will be one of five players joining the Falcon women’s basketball team for the 2019-20 season.
Beirne averaged 15 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals as a junior. She was voted the team MVP and named to the all-Wesco 4A second team.
Beirne also played soccer and was the league’s leading scorer as a junior, earning first-team, all-league and all-star honors.
“She’s a very quick combo guard, and we’re very excited about her,” SPU coach Mike Simonson said. “She didn’t play her senior year because of an injury. But she’s a competitor, very athletic, and there’s a very high upside for her.”
Also headed to Seattle Pacific are Kayla Brundidge (Garfield), Ashlynn Burgess (Wenatchee Valley College), Abril Rexach Rore (Eastern Wyoming College) and Grace Sterk (Lynden Christian).
