Brian Keith Shepard: 1968 - 2019

Posted

Brian Keith Shepard, 50, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, April 8, 2019 after a 19-month battle with Stage 4 Melanoma.

Born in Three Rivers, Michigan and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Brian relocated to Seattle in 1995. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Arizona State University, and worked in Finance and Information Technology as a Systems Engineer, Consultant, IT Manager and Business Analyst over the course of his career.

His crowning achievement, however, has always been his family, and he was a phenomenal father and devoted husband. He enjoyed the outdoors, socializing with friends, and was so happy to share his love of dirt bike riding with his children. He loved to go camping with family and friends and also go on weekend outings with the kids to the ORV parks in Washington State.

He is survived by his wife Diane and their children Andrew (15) and Eliana (12), with whom he made his home in Mukilteo.

He also leaves his stepfather Gary Shepard, his younger brother, Gary Shepard, Jr., and nephews Broghan Shepard, Scott Shepard and David Mitchell.

His father, Berl, his mother, Ginny, and his brother, Kevin, predeceased him.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, (seattlecca.org), or to the Melanoma Research Foundation, (melanoma.org). And please remember to never use tanning beds and always use sunscreen.

The family would like to thank the SCCA Melanoma Oncology team, the SCCA Palliative Care team, the UW Alvord Brain Tumor Center, Providence Hospice for their compassion and excellent care, as well as their friends and family for the overwhelming love and support throughout this trying time.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4, at 2 p.m. at Northshore Christian Church, 5700 23rd Drive West, Everett, WA.
