Volunteers work at Mukilteo Community Garden for Earth Day

Volunteers from the Kiwanis Club of Mukilteo, as well as Mariner and Kamiak Key Club members and Mukilteo Community Garden volunteers, spent April 20 working at the community garden in honor of Earth Day, which was Monday, April 22.

It was a little chilly, windy at times, but the rain held up, much to the pleasure of the few dozen volunteers who worked on the Mukilteo Community Garden Saturday, April 20, in honor of Earth Day.

The volunteers consisted of members of the Kiwanis Club of Mukilteo, the Mukilteo Community Garden, and Kamiak and Mariner high school students who are members of their schools’ Key Clubs.

The volunteers helped prepare and seed the banks for vegetables that are donated to the Mukilteo Food Bank, and helped with weeding, mulching, moving straw bales, and more.
