Knights blank Marauders for first win | Girls tennis

Kamiak picked up its first league victory of the season.
The Knights did not lose a single set as they blanked district rival Mariner 7-0 in a Wesco 4A girls tennis clash Tuesday, April 2, at Mariner High School.
Junior Leah Robison defeated Satveer Kaur 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles match. As a sophomore, Robison played at No. 1 singles during the latter part of last season.
Senior Kim Nguyen, a newcomer to the singles lineup, posted a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Lana Pankovets at No. 2 singles.
Sabrina Lin and Jiamee Wang also won their singles matches for the Knights (1-2 in the league, 3-4 overall).
Kamiak’s Suin Lee and Lianne Kniest prevailed 6-4, 6-3 over Maddie Tuju and Nhi Pham in the No. 1 doubles match. Jennifer Hau and Chaitna Deshmukh won 6-2, 6-1 over Modesta Hurtado and Marissa Lee at No. 2 doubles and Margaret Shroeder and Angie Lee defeated Temi Sofowara and Evelynn Ramirez 6-1, 6-0 in No. 3 singles.
The Knights resume league play against Lake Stevens at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 16 at Kamiak High School. The Marauders take on Monroe at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, April 11, at Monroe High School.
