United Airlines kicked off their start of commercial air service out of the new Propeller-run airport at Paine Field on Sunday, March 31, with an arriving flight from Denver, and a departure to San Francisco.
United joins Alaska Airlines, who began flying out of Paine Field on March 4.
The original opening date for Alaska was pushed back due to some Federal Aviation Administration employees being furloughed due to the partian federal government shutdown earlier this year.
Initially, Southwest Airlines was going to fly out of Paine Field also, but sold its five flights to Alaska.
Alaska has 18 arrivals and departures while United has the remaining six.
Alaska flies to and from destinations across California, as well as Phoneix, Portland, and Las Vegas, while United flies to and from Denver and San Francisco.
