Historical Society gearing up for lighthouse season

Mukilteo Historical Society Treasurer Alfred Friedrich tells volunteers that the lighthouse’s light can be seen from 12 miles away.

The Mukilteo Light Station, commonly referred to as the Mukilteo Lighthouse or simply “the lighthouse,” is synonymous with the city of Mukilteo.

Mukilteo Historical Society became the unofficial caretakers of the lighthouse in 1992, and shortly after the United States Coast Guard transferred ownership of the lighthouse to the city of Mukilteo, the Historical Society became the official caretakers in 1999.
