Muriel "Mim" Loree: 1923 – 2018

Posted

Muriel Louise “Mim” Loree passed away December 23, 2018 in her home. She was born in New Jersey and lived there the first half of her life. She was married to the late Ralph Loree, who she met while singing with the Glee Club when he was convalescing from an injury in WW2.

They spent many vacations in the Pacific Northwest and decided to spend the second half of their life in Washington. She stepped off the plane running (with 3 dogs and two cats). She became involved with the Mukilteo Historical Society, Garden Club, the Lighthouse, and her church.

She was a partner in forming the Mukilteo Lighthouse Gift Shop and was a Mukilteo Citizen of the Year. She started the teas at the Presbyterian Church and became known as the “Tea Lady.” She loved animals and always had abandoned animals living with her over the years.

She was an avid Seahawk fan and passed peacefully in her sleep on December 23, 2018 hours after the Seahawks secured a place in the playoffs.

She is survived by three children, two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Mukilteo Presbyterian Church music department or your favorite animal shelter.

A memorial service will be held at Mukilteo Presbyterian on February 2, 2019 at 3:30 p.m.
