With no deal on the table, possible teacher strike looms

Another Mukilteo School Board meeting, another packed house full of upset teachers.

Continuing the trend in recent months, teachers packed the district office on Monday night, voicing displeasure over not having a new contract in place with the district, which would give teachers raises due to increased state funding from the 2012 Washington State Supreme Court’s “McCleary Ruling.”

The room was filled with teachers donning red shirts as a sign of unity, and with every seat in the room being used, teachers stood elbow-to-elbow along the walls, and more than 100 other teachers filled...
