It’s almost time to register for school

August 15, 2018

School is just around the corner. Classes in the Mukilteo School District are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 5.

Students who are new to the Mukilteo School District must register at the school that serves their residence.

If you are uncertain which school your child should attend, please check the attendance boundaries on the school district’s website at http://www.mukilteo.wednet.edu or call the school district at 425-356-1274.

To register their child for school, parents or guardians should bring verification of their child’s birth date, proof of residence (such as a utility bill or lease agreement), the names and telephone numbers of emergency contacts, and an up-to-date immunization record. The state’s current immunization requirements can be found through a link on the school district’s website, which is located at http://www.mukilteo.wednet.edu.

If a student attended a Mukilteo school last year, has moved out of that school’s attendance area or out of the district, but wants to continue attending that school, his or her parents must complete an in-district transfer request or an out-of-district request in order to be considered as a continuing student at their school of choice.

All high school offices opened Aug. 13 and are open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a break at lunchtime.

Middle school offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a break at lunchtime, beginning on Monday, Aug. 21, and elementary offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 22.

Elementary students are always anxious to see who their teacher will be for the coming year. The schools will mail that information to parents the week before school starts.

School supply lists are the same for each elementary and middle school. The lists can be found on the school district’s website.

Mukilteo middle schools and high schools have set aside time when students can accomplish tasks such as getting their class schedule, having pictures taken, getting ASB cards, or getting their locker assignment.

Details about the times of these back-to-school check-in events are available on the school district’s website.
