Pioneer Cemetery: What a view! l Travel Sketcher

Mukilteo Pioneer Cemetery has one of the best views in the city, a beautiful resting place for the early citizens.

The plaque reads:

"Jacob D. Fowler

Born Dec.14, 1837 - Died Aug. 24, 1892

J. D. Fowler, Pioneer, established a trading post and named it Mukilteo, an Indian word for 'good camping ground.' He was head of the first family and with Morris H. Frost, his partner, claimed as homestead the originel (sic) area of the Town of Mukilteo. He was the first Co. auditor, first judge, first Mukilteo postmaster and first notary public.
