Historical Society honors 2018 Pioneer of the Year

The old adage is “never forget where you came from.”

That rings especially true for Sharon (Bridget) Waddell Freeman, the Mukilteo Historical Society’s 2018 Pioneer of the Year, who the Historical Society honored at their Thursday, Aug. 9, meeting.

“I was really very fortunate to grow up in a small community of just 500 or so in Mukilteo where people really cared and shared,” Freeman said. “Everybody shared everything.”

Freeman’s family routes are firmly engraved in Mukilteo, as her grandparents, Ida and Robert Cogburn, moved to Mukilteo from Arkansas in 1904, accompanied...
