Mukilteo Kiwanis Club 12th Annual Salmon Bake Scholarship Fundraiser

Last updated 8/8/2018 at Noon

The Mukilteo Kiwanis Club’s 12th Annual Salmon Bake Scholarship Fundraiser returns to this year’s Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival on Sept. 7, 8, 9th at Lighthouse Park.

The Salmon Bake, a festival staple, brings familiar faces and friends in the community together for a salmon feast in support of the Kiwanis Club’s scholarship fund. Every dollar raised helps a local student fulfill their dreams of a college education.

The 2017 Salmon Bake was a success, thanks to the many Kiwanians and Key Club volunteers who planned, cooked and served 779 salmon dinners.

Dinner includes BBQ salmon, buttered corn on the cob, Caesar salad, coleslaw, garlic bread and a beverage.

The first Mukilteo Kiwanis Club Salmon Bake was held in 2007.

Since then, the event has raised $104,700 for college scholarships to high school graduates from Kamiak, Mariner, ACES, and Sno-Isle.

One hundred and twenty scholarships have been awarded to graduating seniors since 2007, including 19 $1,000 scholarships to students from the class of 2018.

2018 is also the first year of the Al Dantico Memorial Scholarship, awarded to two students, in memory Mukilteo Kiwanis member Al Dantico who passed away unexpectedly in 2017.

Pre-sale tickets for the 2018 Salmon Bake are available at the discounted price of $12 and can be purchased at the Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce, Red Cork Bistro and Catering, Soundview Tax Service, Pier Java, Spiro’s Pizza and Pasta, Tropical Tan and Nails, and The Bank of Washington.

Tickets are also available online at or from any club member. Tickets will be $15 when purchased at the festival ($13 for seniors or military).

Mukilteo Kiwanis Club’s objective is serving the Children of the World. Kiwanis members can be found volunteering at a wide variety of community service projects. If you are interested in serving the community, the Kiwanis Club welcomes you to attend a club meeting. The Kiwanis Club of Mukilteo meets on Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Harbour Point Golf Club, and on the last Wednesday of the Month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Spiro’s Pizza and Pasta.
