Marauders lose to Timberwolves in overtime thriller | Boys soccer

Mariner missed an opportunity to move up in the standings and improve its prospects for the postseason.

The Marauders rallied with a late goal in the second half to force overtime but then fell 3-2 to Jackson in a Wesco 4A boys soccer game Wednesday, April 11, at Everett Memorial Stadium.

The loss means that the Marauders (1-6-1 in the league, 1-7-2) failed to make up any ground on Monroe (3-5-0, 4-6-0) for the sixth and final berth to the district playoffs.

“The better team won,” Mariner coach Vince DeSimone said. “Our boys played a good game. … They gave it their all.”
