Kamiak orchestra to host annual ‘Knight in Vienna Ball’

The Kamiak orchestra will hold its 17th annual “Knight in Vienna Ball” from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27 in the commons at Kamiak.

The evening will include ballroom dancing accompanied by the school’s orchestra and professional dancing lessons provided by Oly’s Dance Studio.

There will be raffle baskets and concessions available for purchase.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens.

Tickets are available for purchase online at (use the seat yourself option) and at the door the night of the event.

Proceeds benefit the Kamiak music program.

Kamiak’s 25th ‘Jazz Band Big Dance’

On Feb. 2 at the Rosehill Community Center at 6 p.m., the Kamiak High School jazz bands will host an evening of live music from the ‘30s and ‘40s.

The event is open to the public, and the goal is to bring high school students and the senior community together by connecting the past with the present.

The evening will start with free swing dance lessons beginning at 6 p.m. and will be followed by live music from the jazz bands.

Snacks, desserts and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be available, as well as cash prizes for dance competitions.

Tickets are available at the door and are $10 for seniors and students, and $15 for adults.

This event is the largest fundraiser for the Kamiak jazz bands.
