You said in 1963 that the fight for racial understanding had only begun, yet it is 2018 and the nation has been stuck at the beginning of the track despite the ring of your starting pistol.

You called us to enter a race in which the finish line was the formation of a brotherhood.

Well Martin, we have let you down.

Most of us are comfortable being the audience, looking at the race from the sidelines, ready to cheer on those who have cared enough to join.

And those of us who arein the race refuse to take that first step.

We have become comfortable in simply cheering for something but not...
