Shirley Specht of Alliance, Ohio passed away on Friday, Oct. 27 at the age of 84.
Our dear, darling Shirley has left us to be with her beloved Charlie. She was a remarkable woman who sailed through life with a sunny soul.
A great wife and mother, she never interfered in the life of her children but rather stood as an example to them and all who knew her.
Born in Alliance, Ohio in 1934, Shirley grew up in an idyllic setting. Her Mom and Dad wisely let her run free through childhood with her brothers and sisters: Nancy, Peggy, Jack, Tom, Anabelle and her remaining surviving sibling, LaRilla.
She met Charlie, her first and only love, at the city park. That was it for her as she was smitten for life. Together they enjoyed 58 happy years together before Charlie’s passing in 2012.
Shirley lived beside her son, Scott, daughter-in-law, Jackie and her two grandchildren, Chris and John, in Mukilteo, Washington these past three years. Her son, John and his wife, Lisa and grandchildren, Jack and Allie live in Mason, Ohio. She will be buried next to Charlie in Alliance, Ohio.
Services were held at the Beechwood Christian Church in Alliance, Ohio 12950 Easton St NE Alliance, OH 44601 on Saturday Nov. 4th at with a potluck dinner following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s name to Packs for Kids, 7709 Upper Ridge Rd, Everett, WA 98203.
Her sweet spirit has immeasurably enriched our lives. She will be greatly missed.
