Sno-Isle Dental Clinic opening soon

The Sno-Isle Tech Dental Clinic in Everett will be open from Nov. 8 through Mar. 29.

There are a limited number of openings for these reduced cost services. For the $75 minimum suggested donation, patients will receive an examination, cleaning and any necessary x-rays from a licensed dentist.

Cavities diagnosed onsite may be treated in a follow-up appointment for an additional suggested minimum donation.

You would be helping the community in training dental assistants that are juniors and seniors registered in local high schools who attend Sno-Isle for career training.

For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call 425-348-2240.

The Mukilteo School District’s employee association will be holding its 24th annual Craft Fair beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Mariner High School. With 100 vendors participating, there is sure to be a large variety of great holiday gift items or something special just for you. Admission is free; donations are welcome at the door. Don’t forget to buy raffle tickets for $1 each. You get to choose the prize you want to win. It could be a signed Seahawk football, Silvertips tickets, unique handcrafted items, and more. Proceeds benefit the employee association’s student scholarship fund.

Do you know someone who would make a great teacher? Do you have a parent volunteer who is interested in working with children as a substitute? Please encourage them to consider working for the Mukilteo School District as a substitute teacher. Emergency substitutes are utilized when there is a daily substitute shortage. To be considered as an emergency substitute, candidates must have a four-year degree and experience working with children. Approved candidates are required to attend a full-day training, complete a background check (fingerprints), and apply for state emergency substitute certification. Emergency substitutes primarily deliver lessons designed by the regular teacher and manage the classroom environment. If you are looking for a way to make a difference in a student’s life, please consider joining the Mukilteo School District team. Apply today at

A slate of 12 entertaining and informative speakers will take the stage at the third annual TEDxSnoIsleLibraries event, which will be held in Kamiak’s Performing Arts Center from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4. “I think people will find the mix of subjects and viewpoints shared by all the speakers to be worth their Saturday afternoon,” said Ken Harvey, communications director for Sno-Isle Libraries. “Three amazing high school students, a former astronaut, high-profile leaders from the community, a gardener, a kite flyer, and more will be stepping onto the TEDx red circle to share some amazing stories.” Included in the group of speakers will be Sargun Handa, a student from Kamiak. People have three ways to participate in TEDxSnoIsleLibraries. Not only will there be an audience at Kamiak, the event will livestreamed to 10 community sites in Snohomish and Island counties, and it can be viewed online. For more information, go to
