Letter: Rohrbough is respected, a leader

October 11, 2017

Anna Rohrbough’s campaign slogan is: “Navigating our community through thoughtful leadership.”

I am passionate about leadership. I take it seriously. In fact, I left the practice of law to start a nonprofit working with aspiring student leaders because I believe so strongly in leadership.

In James C. Hunter’s book “The World’s Most Powerful Leadership Principle,” he defines leadership as “the skill of influencing people to enthusiastically work toward goals identified as being for the common good, with character that inspires confidence.”

Anna is skilled in influencing people to work toward goals for the common good, and she is a woman of strong character.

Anna owns her own business. She is a leadership coach, a speaker, and a trainer. I met Anna almost three years ago when I first moved to Mukilteo, when I enrolled in her incredible six-week leadership course through the Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce.

Since then, I have been lucky enough to observe Anna speak at many community events, including Sno-Isle TedX and numerous women’s leadership events.

Anna is an influencer. Walk into any room with her and you will discover this very quickly. She is authentic, funny, personable, and smart. She is respected throughout the community, and she is trustworthy.

She gives back to so many organizations in the area. She donates her time, skill, passion, and expertise to nonprofits and to our city. She has served on the Long-Range Financial Planning Committee for the City of Mukilteo, the Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and as an Ambassador for the Economic Alliance of Snohomish County. I am proud to call her a colleague and a friend.

At this time in Mukilteo, when our little city is facing big issues like changes to the waterfront, commercial flights, and budgetary concerns, Anna is the right person for the job.

With Anna at the helm, she will help us navigate through these issues by using her skill of influencing people to work together toward common goals with character that inspires confidence. Please join me in voting for Anna Rohrbough for Mukilteo City Council Position 1.
