Mariner focused on gaining much-needed experience | Boys basketball


A young Mariner boys basketball team headed into the spring and summer needing to gain a little experience.

The Marauders accomplished their goal.

Mariner played in the Maverick Shootout and Burlington-Edison tournaments and hosted a scrimmage with Wilson and Monroe.

Second-year coach Tevin Dillon and his players then wrapped up their busy-offseason schedule by heading east to attend the Eastern Washington basketball camp, where the Marauders went 5-2 in games.

“It went really well,” Dillon said. “We played some solid teams.”
