Kiwanians give record amount in scholarships

 

Recipients of $1,000 scholarships from the Kiwanis Club of Mukilteo were honored June 7 during a breakfast reception at Harbour Pointe Golf Club.

The Kiwanis Club of Mukilteo this year awarded scholarships to 21 graduating seniors totaling $21,000 – more than in any previous year.

“We’re very proud of the selections we’ve made this year,” club member Tom Nielsen said during a reception Wednesday morning, June 7, at the Harbour Pointe Golf Club.

A committee of six sorted through some 65 applications this year, selecting 21 students, each of whom received a $1,000 scholarship.

The recipients include 10 students from Mariner High School, eight from Kamiak, two from ACES and one from the Sno-Isle Tech Skills Center.
