During its meeting on Monday, Oct. 24, the Mukilteo School Board did the following:

Adopted a resolution that requests the state Board of Education to grant the school district three full non-student days for elementary schools in the 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20 school years for parent-teacher conferences. The three full days would replace the five early-dismissal days that are currently used for that purpose.

Heard staff presentations about and discussed the following: activities that took place during the staff training day on Oct. 7, the results of research conducted of recent graduates, and proposed revisions to Board Policy 1112 (Board Member Resignation) and Board Policy 1113 (Vacancies).

During a work session held at ACES High School before the general meeting, members of the school board heard student presentations about two of the courses that are available for high-achieving students at the schools: an advanced art class and AP Government.

Additional details about agenda items can be found in the board packet information available at http://info.mukilteo.wednet.edu/board/BrdPacket/2016_17/16_10_24Packet/AGENDA161024.html.
