When will the Trust of God, latent in the reality of man, emerge? (Part 9) | Worship

Read parts 1-8 of the nine-part “When will the Trust of God, latent in the reality of man, emerge?” series at http://www.mukilteobeacon.com. –Ed.

The last three sentences of the Scriptures that I’ve been parading in this series say to me that God is known only through His Prophets.

From the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh (“The Glory of God”/1817-1893), God reveals to us:

“These Essences of Detachment, these resplendent Realities are the channels of God’s all-pervasive grace.”

God commissioned Them to specially touch with grace, and to specially sanctify from fear every soul who musters up to bring two things: a humble heart longing for God, and a humble spirit receptive to God’s Voice and directions.

“Led by the light of unfading guidance, and invested with supreme sovereignty, They are commissioned to use the inspiration of Their words, the effusions of Their infallible grace and the sanctifying breeze of Their Revelation for the cleansing of every longing heart and receptive spirit from the dross and dust of earthly cares and limitations.”

Then, in the final sentence Bahá’u’llah answers the question posed by the title of the last nine columns: “When?” When will we get it right? When will we cooperate with God’s plans for us to such a wonderful degree that the fruits of His plans for us are more fully known?

My guess: the Trust of God will emerge after those souls who already have “longing heart(s) and receptive spirit(s)” each make a quality decision, and go! Abandon tentativeness, arise and actually take that last step: allowing the Scriptural “cleansing of” their hearts and spirits by stepping into that unpredictable and humble beginning of a baby relationship with God, stepping into obedience to and confidence in God, and into the steady praise of God.

Doing this green lights all the gifts God has been longing to give you.

When the masses (“every longing heart” equals masses indeed) actually add “receptive spirits” to their ante, then actually enter into their relationships with God, our numbers will be so large that the happy will be the majority. God’s goodness will be evident in the air.

This will cause our desired change. Imagine the majority trying on the peace that goes beyond understanding! The zeitgeist will shift. A group dynamic will prevail, everybody loves a winner!

When enough of us finally simply approach God, then.

“Then, and only then, will the Trust of God, latent in the reality of man, emerge, as resplendent as the rising Orb of Divine Revelation, from behind the veil of concealment, and implant the ensign of its revealed glory upon the summits of men’s hearts.”

Today, what exactly is preventing us from nurturing the capacities for Godliness that are waiting within us? What is preventing us from stepping into a simple “approaching God mode”?

We don’t have to be perfect at all to approach God! We’re asked to “please bring the mess!”

Lucky for us, simply “trying earnestly” counts as “job done!” to Him!

Well, back in the day, what prevented me from approaching God was that I didn’t have a longing heart. Nor a receptive spirit. Fortunately, later substantive challenges made my heart long for God’s relief and gave me a spirit acutely receptive to “whatever will actually work, anything, please!”

This stance worked. Soon a Christian teacher approached me, a few months later I received Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit of God into my heart and soul. To put it mildly, things got better. Thus began the most wonderful adventure of my life.

Thank you for considering my witness! Please approach God while still not ready!

In closing, God speaks to us in the first person:

O son of spirit! Out of the essence of knowledge I gave you being, why seekest thou enlightenment from anyone beside Me? Out of the clay of love I molded thee, how dost thou busy thyself with another?

“Turn thy sight unto thyself, that thou mayest find Me standing within thee, mighty, powerful and self-subsisting.”
