Toastmasters

‘Chasing the Surface’

4 p.m. The Langley Whale Center will host a book reading and presentation by Sharon Mentyka, author of the book "Chasing the Surface,” for children 8 and older. The book is based on a true event in Dyes Inlet, Wash. The story follows a 12-year-old girl’s struggles to help free a pod of trapped killer whales, which leads her to a new understanding of nature, family and home. Donations will be accepted. Candy Buy Back

Sno-Isle TECH Dental Clinic

The Sno-Isle TECH Dental Clinic will be open from Nov. 3 through March 16 for discounted services. Help train dental assistants that are juniors and seniors registered in local high schools who attend Sno-Isle for career training. For $75 per appointment, clients will receive an exam, cleaning and any necessary X-rays from a licensed dentist. Cavities may be treated in a follow-up appointment. Community Service

10:30-11:30 a.m. Middle school students (grades 6-8) can earn community service credit by helping out at the Mukilteo Library. Help prepare crafts for library programs and displays, pick up and clean up, sort books and more. No need to sign up. Annual Craft Fair

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Get ready for one of the biggest craft fairs in the south Everett area. The 23rd annual Mukilteo Schools Craft Fair will feature 80 vendors selling a wide range of handcrafted wares, including a variety of holiday and commercial-type items. Proceeds from table fees and the raffle support the educational scholarship fund for high school seniors. Mariner High School, 200 120th Ave. W, Everett.

Election Night Vigil

7-8 p.m. St. Hilda St. Patrick is hosting an election night prayer vigil for Snohomish Country. Meaningful Movies

7 p.m. Sno-King Meaningful Movies presents, "Consumerism and the Limits to the Imagination," Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 8109 224th St. SW, Edmonds. Filmmaker Justin Lewis makes a compelling case that consumer capitalism can no longer deliver on its promises of happiness, and is unsustainable. Write Now: Polishing Your Manuscript
