The Mukilteo-based Gene Nastri School of Arts is looking for teen volunteers for its instrument petting zoos.

Volunteers are needed to show children how to hold an instrument and make their first sounds. Earn community service credits by sharing your love of music.

The instrument petting zoos are scheduled for Friday, July 22, and Wednesday, Aug. 17 at Rosehill Community Center plaza in Mukilteo.

The July zoo runs from 1:30-2:30 p.m., with set up at 1 p.m. The August zoo runs from 1-2 p.m., with set up at 12:30 p.m.

The instruments needed are: violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone and guitar.

You must have a minimum of two years playing experience and be in middle school or high school to volunteer. Call 425-308-5503 or email to sign up for one or both.

Gene Nastri School School of the Arts was founded in 1984 by Carol Harkins with the support of volunteers.

The school is named for Everett violinist, Gene Nastri, who devoted over 60 years to teach some of the finest violinists of Washington state.

Rosehill Community Center is at 304 Lincoln Ave. in Mukilteo.
