County executive congratulates art students for Scholastic awards

Snohomish County Executive John Lovick visited the Art Workshop Inc. in Mukilteo on May 20 to congratulate four local students who won Scholastic Awards this year.

Marcella “Ella” Corwin, 14, has won a national medal in this year’s Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for her mixed-media artwork “One.” She received thte Gedenk Award for Tolerance, new to the contest.

Ella, an eighth grader at Northshore Christian Academy, also won Gold Keys for “Grand Canyon,” “One” and “Fall Fireworks” in the Regional Scholastic Art Awards for Snohomish County.
